I am a TTI dealer and warranty station, so I'm well aware. I was just fairly shocked to find out the same Chinese company making the Evolution is making the S17 canister. The PN upper housing and canister upper housings have a nicer finish and are slightly different- but with the wholesale value of the vacuums being within $5 of each other, I think the Royal is a much more beautiful machine.

The Evolution is slightly different. I've put the July 2010 Promotion at Starks and you can see the Lexon S17. The Evolution Clean 1 has the same motor, base housing, bag, bag and filter. The power nozzle is also the same underneath. The upper housings are a nice metallic blue finish on the royal- flat blue finish on the Evolution. Customers seem to prefer the Royal over the Evolution- they are within $5 of each other on wholesale cost, so I'm probably sticking with the Royal and phasing out the Evolution.
