I bought a Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum model #116 at a garage sale. It did run. However, there was a lot of dirt and lint in and around the fan chamber. I proceeded to take it apart, and blew the dirt out of it. Now, after re-assembly, it will not run. I'm thinking, perhaps it's the circuit board? Is there a way to make it run by getting around the circuit board or do I have to replace the circuit board? I've priced boards on line and it doesn't look like they would be too expensive, I've priced them at less than $20.00.

Hey.... the model number starts after 116... 116 is just a prefix used on many Kenmore vacs. Does the vacuum turn on at the hose handle or on the base of the machine? If it's the hose handle, as I saw often when I sold them at Sears, replacing the hose would fix it but they can be prohibitively expensive. Good luck!
