WOW Hans!!! What great finds!! Where did you find the Wizard? It's gorgeous!

And of course I'm tingling over the Johnson Wax polisher! Those just don't ever show up anymore!!

I'm not so big on the Singer, but I can certainly appreciate its condition and if it's something you've been looking for for years, I understand your excitement.

Nice finds.

The cord has NO OUTER INSULATION!!!

All dried up ,the hose however holds suction perfectly, The Wizard came from a junk store in Lexington Virginia!

OMG! That Singer is a "Eureka in Disguise!" LOL!!!

Beauty of a machine....wonder how they get that carpet nozzle to stay in place in the cardboard kit.....it looks too heavy to stay hanging there by a slim cardboard flap.

I'd love to find out how the well the turbo nozzle works! Since buying the new Hoover/TTI Constellation, I am really hooked on the efficacy of good turbo nozzles.

Isn't it interesting how Whirlpool was owned by RCA in the 1950's? RCA = Radio Corporation of America....hmmmmm......

Hans,

You LUCKY DOG!!!! You find all the good stuff...now I must tell you...you need to be on the lookout...there is a man running around with a wig and curlers....and something called a Uninversal Hair Dryer that just might take that Universal Vacuum..he was last seen leaving Austing Texas in a beat up looking red van...duck tape holding it together..all the windows open...couldn't afford to fix the air...I guess...with any luck, his passenger will do further damage to the vehicle and he won't make it to your place...but I can't promise anything at this point in time...

Great Finds... I love the Singer...any of them would be safe at my house...the mad man will never find them here...

Morgan

Morgan--------RED ALERT-----Man running amock--------

silverlux's profile picture
First up I feel you should be warned----That man in the red van is a lot more savvy than we think!!!---Just this past Friday when I arrived home in the late afternoon there was a mysterious box [Priority Mail, no less] leaning up against the door. Not expecting any parcels, I approached it with great caution. I leaned down and picked it up and after further investigation, the return address read----The Godfather, Snellville, Ga. With trembling hands I carried it into the house and placed it on the kitchen counter. Carefully I pulled the zip string to open the box and sliding the contents slowly out to reveal a wig done up in red and blue curlers.....I almost fainted!!!....I haven't had a good nights sleep since that incident.....I had ADT Security come out on Monday morning and beef up the security system adding extra cameras and lighting....I fear he is working his way up north and will wreak havoc with us all!!...Nothing is sacred or safe.....just be forewarned!!......[really ducks and runs!]

Dan,

Now I am scared...your only a few hours from me...Hans you may be safe...since the vacuum is actually a Wizard..only the case is a Universal...this man may not have enough gas money to go chasing after the case...the last I heard the vehicle was in parts somewhere in the South...

Hans...protect those vacuums...and can I rub your head for good luck...I never find mint condition vacuums....but again I must warn you....it is not safe...be on the look out...if that red van pulls in your drive....roll the piano in front of the door...

Morgan

The Vacuum Goddess has certainly shined down on you. Beautiful stuff. I've never seen a Bambi before! Very cool. Hide that Universal hassock.....JL

Hans, what wonderful machines! I must say that you do have a knack for finding such unique treasures. I can only imagine all the wonderful vacuums and home appliances....even vintage lawn mowers that you have in your collection! What a treat it would be to be able to see them.

But, alas - that's all I'll be able to do...imagine.

I was so looking forward to meeting you and seeing your wonderful collections there in just a few short days. I completely understand after seeing what the two gentleman above (Vinvac and Silverlux) have written, if you were to cancel our mini-meet. I do have some items for you, and I will still deliver them if you are not afraid to accept them - however - I will set them carefully in the street about three blocks away from your home, back away, put a cover over my head, handcuff myself to the car and let you pick the items up and leave. That way you won't have to see me or talk to me, and there won't be any chance of contamination. I will give the key to Toby with strict instructions NOT to unlock the handcuffs until you have removed yourself from all danger, and he and I will leave.

Oh, dear.....Toby.

I forgot about Toby. Poor Toby, he has never seen a vintage vacuum cleaner before in his life. He's only heard about them, or seen ads in Life magazines. He will be crushed.

On second thought......

No! I will not let my reputation ruin Toby's fun. After the car has been unloaded. I will hand Toby the keys to the vehicle, hand him my shoes and underwear - and let him close me in the trunk, after removing the "get-away" glow in the dark emergency release handle. That way he will still be able to enjoy the visit. If you could find it in your heart to drive Toby the rest of the way to your home after I am safely secured, I would appreciate it. He shouldn't have to suffer walking in the heat just because of me.

Thank you for your consideration in this manner, I suppose it's best that you found out about me here rather than in person.

Sincerely,

Rick

Hans,

You should be safe, Toby has a very calming effect on Mr. Crevicetool and I don't beleive the side kick Luxg will along on this trip...just make sure that Toby has all the proper medications to be given hourly!

If you really want to calm him down,,,,we can send you the wig and curlers...it settles him right down...and Luxg just goes into a trance....Oh....keep a roll of duck tape handy, the van will need further repairs once it arrives I am sure...

Each one is a real gem, but I think my favorite would be the Wizard, with the Singer pulling a close second. I remember seeing the Singer in magazine ads when I was a kid. Congrat on the great finds!
