Today I was on my bike and went to the other side of town to grab some lunch, when I decided to stop by the Pawn Shop and a resale shop to browse around before I ate lunch, just in case I found something. Ohh did I find something(s)=]. I walked into the resale shop, and didn't see much but some bags and a Dirt Devil Hand Vac I passed up. I picked up some Hoover J bags, and when I turned around I noticed something I hadn't seen the first time I circled the store. A 1983 Kenmore Canister, with the hose and power nozzle. It did not have any of the other attachments. I was ready to check out when I asked the lady if there were any other vacuums in the back, she said there was and I could go look if I wanted. I found a real nice black Eureka Smart Vac with all of the attachments. It just needs a new belt. Of course, I have no clue how to get into bare floor mode. I also spotted a familiar hose. Buried under boxes was a Hoover Spirit. No attachments, except the hose and an extension wand. I also saw an odd Kenmore canister hose, but no canister. There was a few Kenmore attachments, that would of fit the canister I got, but I didn't bother, and there was also a G3 Shampooer I passed up. So I paid $4.99 for the Kenmore, $9.99 for the Eureka, $5.99 for the Spirit, and $.5O for the Hoover bags. But it doesn't stop there. I passed up the Pawn Shop and went to goodwill, where I found an ABSOLUTE mint condition Eureka F and G upright. There is not any scratches on it, teh bag and cord are completely white. It was in the back and I said I would buy it As Is, so I got it for 6 dollars. There was Hoover Tempo bagless thing they had but I didn't bother. So today I got two things I really wanted, the Kenmore and Smart Vac, and two favorite vacuums, an F and G and the Spirit!

How funny that both the Eurekas are uprights.... those are my favorites of the ones you got. That F and G really is pristine! I've always loved those "Boss Smart Vacs", and you got good prices on everything. I'm so glad you didn't mean it when you said you were done with vacuums, I'm sure you are too... it's in your blood! Why won't the Eureka go into bare floor mode? Are you manipulating the switch with the handle in the upright position?

Congrats on great finds and great prices! I thought about looking in pawn shops (Good Will never has ANYTHING here), but I always assumed they'd want too much money for junk. I went to one close to my apartment and they didn't have much of anything... the only thing that even came close to piquing my interest was a Morse sewing machine for 39 dollars, but I didn't dare, as I barely have room for the two sewing machines I already have!

The one Pawn Shop here wants $22 for a Dirt Devil series 500 handvac! And the Goodwill here never has any vacuums either! I did see one last time I was there, but it was just a Shark Handvac.
