Will this central vac hose work in the older Filtex central vac outlets? |

Nope, i dont think so. If i remember right, the old Filtex inlets had button or switch at the inlet that activates the Central Vac, or just opening the door of the inlet activates it. The hose you have here requires the inlet that has 2 metal contacts inside that contacts the metal ring on the hose cuff. |

It will work but the metal ring on the hose cuff is redundant. On modern central vacuum systems and central vacuum systems that have 2 contacts inside the inlet, the metal ring is the "on/off" switch. |

The older Filtex inlets are slightly larger, and this hose will be a loose fit. A few wraps of good ol' electrical tape will make it fit more tightly, but you really want to use a hose with a tapered all-rubber (or vinyl) cuff. |
