I just got one of these today! It was given to me as a trade for a Eureka Maxima bagless -she wanted a vacuum with a hose- so I was wondering if anybody knows what year it was made? It has a metal base and metal fan and uses type A bags, the base is white painted and the hood is light yellow/ gold and does not have a headlight. It has the switch that looks like a light switch. I already love it because its really quiet and it sounds good but it cleans really well. Also if anybody wants a BOL blue/teal plastic base convertible, you can have it for $5 plus the cost of shipping. it runs good but it needs some TLC. I dont need 2 that are basically the same(I have another one that is the same but the hood is orange) just let me know on here because my email doesnt work. THANKS and have a great day!!!

That has had a type A retrofit.

The unit should of had a type C bag system. That is a nice machine, I have it, and I have it's sibling the 33. I think of mine as having a greenish tint. They are quiet, and they are excelent.

I am unsure of the year of production.

I thought the A bag seemed a little weird....

The year would be mid 60's and it was the second to last convertible special being replaced by the 36. The original bag would be the same color as the hood, would be a narrow top with type c bags and would say convertible special on the bottom. A great find!

thank you !!!!! This is one vacuum that I will NOT sell. most of my vacuums are "for sale" more or less, but this is the oldest full size vacuum that I have and I really like it, so its not going anywhere! especially for being that old, it runs really well, and its quieter (and sounds nicer than my 2 newer Convertibles)(and cleans better than they do),it cleans as well as my Fantom Thunder bagless.
