Sorry took me so long,

the vacuum belonged to my aunt, she lived in a double block home.A young couple lived nextdoor, one night the husband murdered his wife and 4year old son, then he shot himself in the head, the bullet went through my aunts wall and landed on the hood of the hoover, the bullet still had his blood on it and the vacuum was in the crime photos, after it was all done my aunt sold her house and didn't want the vacuum anymore.

While my story is a different subject, a Mr. Mahoney painted our house the last time it was done, with a helper. It may have been his adopted son.

Mr. Mahoney went to see the son one evening, and didn't return. His wife Judy, assuming he had just spent the night over there instead of coming back, went over the next morning to see what might have been wrong. She found her husband shot to death in the livingroom, and their son dead of a self-inflicted gunshot in a bedroom.

I can clearly remember an episode of 20/20 that I happened to walk in on as a child. It was referencing a killer's spree and one of the way he "erased" his footprints in the home where he killed the family was with a vacuum cleaner. In the episode and reenactment, they used a Concept two. It had quite an impact on my young mind and provided for some scary nightmares.

I wonder if it was Barbara Walters' vacuum?

I was in a movie years ago. WE had to film a few

scenes in this old mansion. We also had to sleep there one night. It seems the former owner was a judge. His wife was killed by his grandson. beaten to death with a vacuum claner wand!! ELECTROLUX, to be exact. At the landing of the stairs was still a bloodstain, not all cleaned up. I later discovered that I was sleeping in the "killer's" room. I just remembered all of that. I try not tot hink about that too much. The other movied I was in, I never got to see the preview, my father died. Some luck, huh?

There are odd bits of crime episodes floating around. Around here, some of the law enforcement agencies auction off seized firearms. One time I bought a Model 100 Winchester rifle that had little black pen marks on the stock. You know, like in re-runs of "Perry Mason" where in the courtroom Mason asks Lieutenant Tragg "if this is the murder weapon." Lt. Tragg says, "Yes, it was recovered at the scene and those are my initials on it" (pointing to some spot on the weapon). When I looked closely at these marks on the Winchester, there were initials, a case number, and rust red blood stains circled in fine time felt pen. Later, I contacted the county sheriff and researched the case and found that the rifle had been used in a double murder. That's probably not all that rare, considering the nature of firearms.

Another time many years ago, my dad and I went out to look at a 1954 Lincoln that was for sale. Sitting next to it was a kinda rare 58 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz. It had a weird panel of duct tape across the top edge of the windshield. I asked the seller about it, and he said look at the glass on the inside. There was a bullet hole through the glass hidden on the outside by the tape. The car had belonged to a crime figure that got murdered outside his motel room. It didn't go on through as there was no hole in the leather seat.

That was the first time I'd ever seen duct tape; that musta been around 1972 or so.

In the case of the homicide Hoover, it's funny that the spent bullet would come to rest right on top of it. But a bullet has to come to rest somewhere.
