Yes those whispertones and progressives are great vacuums.I always get them at the auction sometimes for under 10.00,and sell the parts in my Ebay store. They are easy to service and they have good lamb motors. |

only a few years after purchase. I took care of it very well - replacing bags and filters often, and avoiding suction lock that causes the red light to go on. Wish I had known that the sound foam cover on the motor needs washing as well. My question to all of you: How do you take the main unit apart to get to the motor? I can see no visible screws to loosen. Or can you remove the motor foam cover by just removing the HEPA filter in the top compartment? And once you get the filter out, what's the best way to clean it so that the exhaust air flows through it properly? |

I use two flat head screw drivers there are three plastic tabs that need to unhinge and a small spring will also come out.To Work it off you will have to use some force then it will pop off. You will find the two screws under this cord rewind bar. |
