Ok, the title sounds really weird, but thats what I said today when I was riding with my dad! I found a Hoover Convertible out for the trash today! it needs some work, but it runs great. I think it has been under water, because everything that could be rusted IS. it is one of the later models, base model,no headlight. the hood is a bright teal/turquoise color and the base is white plastic. it uses C bags. I think the reason it was thrown out is because one of the metal spring-tabs that hold the brush in place is gone, then they used it like that until the end cap wore out. the brush bearings were rusted into the sockets and onto the shaft, but I got those free with some liquid wrench and a screw driver. the metal brushroll was totally encrusted in rust,so I took it apart, sanded the rust off and painted it. does anybody know if the brushroll tab-holder-thingy is available or not, and can anybody tell me what year it was made? the model# is U4363-042 ,and the serial# is 00090237 thanks!
