My aunt and uncle gave me this Oreck a few hours ago. I asked if it worked and they said yeah, it is just to old. So I get it home and the bag didn't inflate so I assumed it had a bad fan, but the brushroll was spinning, so it was clogged up in the fill tube with a 3 inch piece of metal with tons of debri wrapped around it. Now it works nice for an Oreck I guess. I figured I'd share it.

XL-3700 I'm glad you did! You really hit the jackpot! Having been an Oreck sales representative, I will always have a soft spot for these machines. Not everybody appreciates them, but I do. Guess that's why Baskin-Robbins makes 31 flavors! ;-) - Karl | ||

I'm not disappointed at all. I have the next step up to this model, at least I think it is. It is a black 2 speed one with LED lights stuff. But this is probably one of the best Orecks I have used in a while. I do have a soft spot for them to. I like to use them in my foyer and kitchen. They are great on rugs!

Vintage Orecks Wow, that's great Nathan. Have you seen any of the original XL-4000's yet? I hope you get one as a trade-in. With their stubby little handle, they are fun little machines. Sound nothing at all like the rest of the Oreck lineup... - Karl | ||
