underside,

Chevron roller.

I am quite amazed at the performance of these machines. More suited to short pile carpet. Dearest Mother in Laws deep pile didnt let the machine perform very well but in my short loop its fantastic.

Something I didnt really expect being that my Auntie Eleanor had the 612 and her carpets always were.... well.... Minging,

I now beleive its was probably cos she didnt use it LMAO.

Hi Turbomaster1984 and all,

rarely get the chance to post on here, but brilliant find! Thanks for posting pics.

My mum had the UK 610 when I was a kid so I'd also love to get my hands on one. Others have mentioned that the build quality of these was quite poor, ours lasted a good 6-7 years though before being damaged by builders.

Had the chance to use a few of these recently (hi James if you are reading!) and I was pleasantly surprised by the performance too..how do you think it compares to a Turbopower? Not quite a match for carpet cleaning but definitely had a good tool setup.

I have scanned the 610 user guide (and still have the original paper copy..somewhere!); let me know if you'd like me to upload the scans if you've not got one already.

Rob

Electrolux 612

I have seen in the flesh, what must have been an early production model of the 612. It had a plastic 'agitator' complete with plastic beater bars!

The Electrolux vacuum brochure of the time even mentions the beater bars.

My Gran had the 612 that had Rob's one-piece chevron style of brushroll. Replacement brushrolls after that were of the 'riveted two-halves' Electrolux 'Contour'/'Airstream' type.
