When Fred Nelson processed my registration, I asked him if the site had a search engine for the archives and his reply was, "Not yet".
Frustrating since I like to research a lot of topics.

Since then, I sorted out how to use Google to do keyword searches specific to the Vacuumland site.
I just did a search of the Vacuumland archives and don't see it referenced there so it may be new to you!

Did I just turn in a circle?
;o)

Anyway, here's what to do:

1. Navigate to the Google advanced search page:

www.google.com/advanced_searchQUE...

2. In the box for 'Search within a site or domain', type or paste:

vacuumland.org

3. Add any keywords you'd like to find, e.g., Kirby, Miele power nozzle, etc. to the regular search boxes.
For that second example you can use the box for 'this exact wording or phrase' to get the words in consecutive order.

4. After your criteria are entered, click on the 'Advanced Search' button and you'll see the results page and can click through from those links.

NOTE: You can also do this from the standard Google search page by type or pasting:

site:vacuumland.org

in the search box then adding your key words after it.

It ain't perfect but makes it easier to find references across a variety of threads.

Another Method...

Scott has offered a great way to search the archives.

To further refine his advice you can use the INURL advanced command, along with the SITE command he mentions to further zero in on what you are looking for. For example, start out with his recommendation:

site:vacuumland.org

But if you wanted to limit your results to only those entries in the archive, you would add the component inurl:archive to what he has. Like this:

site:vacuumland.org inurl:archive

If you wanted to limit your results to those archives from 2007 you would add another component:

site:vacuumland.org inurl:archive inurl:2007

Then add whatever keywords you wanted to add after that, with spaces in between.

The screenshot below was using the search string:

site:vacuumland.org inurl:archive inurl:2007 hoover convertible

If that was clear as mud I am happy to explain further...just ask.

You can use the SITE technique to search any site that has public web pages
