Did y'all see the MINT HOOVER 1076 that sold for OVER $600.00???? DEAR GOD !!!! Can you imagine?? I almost died! It began at $40..... up to $97. ... to 600+ at the last minute! Wow. I wanna meet the one who has that kind of cash! I doubt it'll be a daily driver. It's MT favorite... among others.

I wanted this

so very badly that I actually bid 150.00 on it. Little did I know that near the end of the auction the bidding had gone to the moon. Needless to say that 1076 won't be in my collection LOL. I admit it was nice but wow ! I am a very serious collector but these guys must own Hoover Museums LOL. I will have to keep looking I guess :-(

LOL - my question would be "Did they actually get the money for it?" I sold an old Electrolux on ebay years back. Some guy bid it up to over $200 then didnt pay for it. I think some guys get a kick out of creating false accounts and runing up bids when they dont have any intention of buying.

"Did the seller get paid?"

Excellent question. As Doug pointed out, many of these astronomical bids (bidders) never follow through as was the case on a Hoover 27 I lost because of one of these clowns. Sadly, the seller and I were unable to strike a deal. John, yours defines the word 'MINT'. Wanna sell for $27.50?

That is one wonderful Model 1076. Definitely one of my favorite Convertibles. That paisley bag!

Thanks, it really is.

It was the daily driver in an 11 room house BEFORE I started collecting. If you take care of things, it's true: they'll give you YEARS of excellent service. I'll post pics of some of my "close to mint" specimens. Thanks for the compliment.
