The Forums Are Reopening!

Welcome back to the Vacuumland Forums. For those of you who missed the forums while they were closed, I apologize. I hope you have read the explanation at the beginning of the Discuss-O-Vac page. We had a few posters who attempted to start a flame war over a disciplinary action taken by the Board. They also attempted to access restricted files on the website and publish access to them via email. Behind the scenes I was getting very threatening and foul emails. I decided that the best course of action was to have a cooling-off period and implement some changes in the structure of the website.

At the request of the Board, I have drafted a set of rules and guidelines to be followed by the posters here. I was trying to avoid this, but the lack of concrete rules invited chaos. Violation of these rules will result in suspension of posting privileges. Please read and understand them because by posting, you agree to abide by them. If there are any questions, please, just ask. I welcome open discussion on this forum, but do not want anyone to feel attacked or intimidated to express their opinion. Free speech is a good thing, but has limits. Those limits include screaming �Fire!� in a crowded movie theatre which is what happened.

Another change is that we will require new posters to register and gain access through an email to me. We have experienced current posters signing up anonymously to post a screamer and then disappear. The perpetrators of this last situation threatened exactly that. They openly threatened, via email, to sign up with as many User Ids as they could and from as many IP addresses as they could in order to fan the flames. This change will hopefully head that threat off at the pass. The Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club has invested a lot of time and resources in setting up this site for all to enjoy. These changes will help to protect that investment and ensure your continued enjoyment of the site. Now let�s talk vacuums!
