Yes Al and I can't believe that he's not had to replace the carbon brushes in the motor at some stage! Mind you, to give him some credit, there's probably not many people out there who can say that they've got a machine , which has been in regular use for 81 years. I have so many machines that it's impossible to use them all on a regular basis, added to which some are recent aquisitions. Mr Whitwam now apparently has a collection of vacuums, so does mean that his 575 is still in regular use? Here's one of my working 575s. The bag's not original and not made by Hoover, though it's in good condition and performs well. Stephen |
