'The performance of a big cleaner. And no loss of suctio

Hi Josh - I LOVE it!

So much power for such a tiny cleaner (footprint is smaller than a sheet of A4 paper - see pic below). You really have to see it to appreciate quite how small it is!

Great pick-up from carpets and hard floors via the new dual air channel FlatOut tool, and very versatile with the dusting tools, as you can see! Only weighs 3.5kg, so you can actually hold it in one hand while you dust with the other.

I like the DC26's T2 wand better than the telescopic wand provided with the DC22 - it's lighter, less bulky, and longer, so I don't find myself stooping to use it.

It would be perfect as a main cleaner for those living in small apartments (Dyson's target market for the DC26), or as a second cleaner for the car, etc, for people in larger homes.

It'll be listed in the new Argos catalogue which comes out tomorrow, and available to buy in stores in the UK from February 8th.

New dual air-channel FlatOut tool...

2 air channels for improved pick-up, and a built-in valve, which prevents it from sticking to light rugs....

Post# 89696 , Reply# 10   1/22/2010 at 19:16 (5,179 days old) by vintagehoover ()

I like the new design better than the old one - the original FlatOut tool glued itself down onto the carpet, and could sometimes be a little tricky to push.

The new one just glides!

However, the ultra-low profile has been retained!

The DC26 is the only cleaner which could make the DC22 look big!

Of course, the DC23MH just dwarfs it!

A quick video of DC26 used with two of the 'extra cost' dusting tools. It isn't supplied with either these, but they fit all of the current Dyson models. The Soft Dusting Brush and Mini Turbinehead are both essential cleaning kit for Dyson owners!

New Cleaner-new video

Jack,
Love your new machine. I just got my flat-out tool last week. It had been on order for over 2 months. It works great and is just as unique as the DC23 machine itself.
One of the best features is the hand grip, suction relief system and the wands. So easy to use and I am still amazed with never any foul oder or leaking dust.

Didn't you post another thread about the same cleaner Jack? I can't seem to find it now.

Isn't this the extra-small Dyson re-design?

Good video BTW, as always...but will you make good use out of your new toy..in your business, perhaps?

Jack, thanks for sending the video - that was brilliant!

I bet you'll be sad when your exhibition comes to an end?

...but I don't believe for one moment that you'd subject your display models to everyday chores.

One question remains, do you want the newest, the latest, the smartest ;)

I would love that Dyson...

I am currently considering a DC23 as my Electrolux Pronto stick vac is not cutting it when coming to do bathrooms and area rugs. I was wondering if anyone who owns a DC23 has attempted to use it on a bathroom rug. I have a really nice rug in the bathroom from the late Linens & Things and I would hate to see the Dyson gooble it up! It would be nice if that fancey little DC26 was avalible in the U.S.

LOL

Reminds me of the toy dc05 I had as a little kid! I love how dyson are bringing back more colour into their vacuums, I allways thought that they started to look a bit boring and dismil. I realy am intrigued with this cleaner in peticular, wouldent it be ace if they did a blueprint edition lol.

I agree a tubo or mini turbo is a must for me also. I have to ask, do you have someone holding the camera for you or do you have it on a tripod? Your videos are just fantastik!

Post# 89940 , Reply# 34   1/24/2010 at 18:09 (5,177 days old) by vintagehoover ()

Hi Charlie - I agree, I like the way Dyson are reintroducing colour into their latest models, with the shroud matching the colour of the cyclone manifold. They've done this with the DC31 Animal, and 3 new models - the DC22 Wood + Wool, DC26 Wood + Wool and the DC32 Animal. I really hope they'll do it with an upright model soon...I might have to buy one!

Kenny - thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the videos, a lot of work goes into them! I almost always use a tripod, although I often edit in freehand shots as well. The Hoover exhibition video was filmed entirely freehand because I walked to the gallery on that occasion, and I didn't want to drag the tripod down there!

I sent an email to Dyson a couple days ago and got a reply today:

"Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have any details regarding the availability of the Dyson DC26 in the US at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely, The Dyson Helpline (dc)"
