Actually this is the second one I just picked up from Watertown City Mission thrift store. I walked in the first room which has a free section shelf and saw a Regina upholstery tool that went to these Broomette hand vacs. I thought good, now I will have the proper tool for my one original Broomette. Well upon walking around in the store over by the small appliances there sat this very nice condition example which I quickly snapped up for a mere $3.00 in perfect working order. I little grease in the fan end bearing and cleaning out the back of the fan it'self and she was running as new. This machine is dated 1979 and they only seem to be showing up until 1981-1982 catalogs so this must have had a very short run. Just to be different I will shortly post some pics of more of my hand vac collection including my 1970's avacado green steel body Metros, a few Royal Princes and a plethora of other oddballs I have collected over the years.

Wow that toy broom is really neat. They made such nice things back then with pride. The Broomette was straight suction only for it's limited run. In the late 80's Regina came back out with another variation on the hand vac in the form of the Dirt Magnet which did have a belt driven power brush. I'll include that in my upcoming pictures of hand vacs. |

Thanks for the link to the toy broom Charles. I have seen that on before or possibly one just like it. I would buy it buy finances are tight at the momment. I'll keep an eye out and see if it pops up again next month. Collector2- I used to have one just like that when I was a young lad but stupidly sold it in a garage sale for $5.00 because it had a slightly out of balance fan and was noisy. So wish I kept it. There was a NIB 70CE last year on Ebay that went for a pretty penny that I also wish I could have purchased but alas the NIB 1976 Regina one speed Electrikbroom was purchased instead that I still have in my collection now. The Iona looks just like my Broomette save a different bag. What year is that from? |

I have some that I'm going to be getting rid of - if you want any parts off them (or them for that matter) you can have them for the shipping cost. Ill send pics when you email. Doug |
