Hi hi, a few pics of the latest finds. I will be moving to another house next month, so it may be a bit quit, but I will be back. Is it just me or are a lot of vacuum collectors gay, I know a few collectors in person and all of them are gay, funny could there be a link ;-)) . This are the new finds a red Aeg vampyr 502, and a philips P 50 both from the midd eighties.

Washers here to, I only have 2 now and one is at my aunts house,but at one time I did have 4 dryers and 6or 8 washers. The bad thing about living at the parents house is 1,theres not much room and 2, my dad got tired of the hose being cluttered,so alot of my vacs and washers got tossed and/or sold when I moved out before. I have the same name over at AW.ord BTW =) | ||

Hey everyone: I think the colour shift (red to blue) is something to do with differences between the European and North American net connections. Pictures that Edgar has sent me in the past have had a colour shift too (you can use the tools on your viewing program like irfanview to correct the colour on individual pictures). Incidentally the machine comes up red here. As for Gay collectors - most that I know are gay as well (myself included) | ||

Okay guys.....it's time to sing the Hoover jingle.....

Make sure you all have your matching "bags and belts" before you start singing!!!!! I've tried to figure out the connection too - for years! It must be something to do with those phallic vacuum hoses....... Or maybe it's simply that a vacuum cleaner was the "magical" machine that made our crazy, mysterious, "out of sorts" childhoods a little cleaner and nicer and more orderly.... If you were like me, I figured if my mom liked to play with this thing, I should too! Like mother, like son.... Did I just give you all too much information? :-) | ||

My computers (home and office) both show Edgar's picture as blue - I though it was meant to look arty. Mind you considering that the AEG cleaner which started this thread is supposed to be red ("As red as a London bus" .... yes having a Victoria Wood moment there) but it turns up as blue as well perhaps it is not a surprise :) Al | ||

I had that model a few years ago as did a local resturant,and they did not put an orange cord on them,just a long (30ft?) cord like the Decades had. I think the was "commercial quality for the home". Fred can probably tell us for sure. It was probly just an advertisement thing. These were sold at regular box stores too. Ann&Hope had them on display around 1987-88 for 129.99 complete with dusting tools. I used to play with it almost every time i went to the store =) | ||

Can you take a pic of the Kenmore caister i spy to the right of the pic if you get a min =) I like the guarsman,and the fact that it has the cloth bag, but I don't think they sold to well because I dont see them to often(around here anyway). It was probably the price. People around here proply figured why spend an extra 60 or 70 bucks when you could het a Convertible or Eureka 1400 series for around $59.99-69.99 and throw a $3.00 extention cord on it. | ||

Apparently, it is a problem with Internet Explorer. If you want to see the accurate colours of anything Edgar posts, just right click on the photo, save it to your computer, then open it with one of your photo/image reading programs. Since I am posting here for no longer than a year and a half, I am surprised that no one ever noticed that there are a lot of gay collectors.
