I have had this machine for 3 years and I put it away after getting it to a shine for almost two years at my local storage unit. when I got the machine it had no bag so after some hefty searching on ebay I found a bag that seemed as if it would fit just right. for $5 I couldnt pass it up. about 2 weeks after I won it the bag came in the mail. sadly after being in storage for almost two years this beautiful eureka model G-2 has lost some shine but will be restored to her original beauty soon. here are some pics, Enjoy.
by the way there was frosted condensation on the machine due to the fact that it was just brought in from outside

That's lovely belt cover badge. Is it dark blue or black? Such a wide brushroll...Looking forward to seeing it in person.

Dave

That Eureka is very much like mine. I have a light tan colored dust bag. Unless it has faded over the year. I do
believe it is an orginal. I notice the step on handle relase
on this one. Which is not on mine, plus the Badge in the front is similar but not exactly !!

Hi Dave -

I had a G-2. It was a variation on yours. Eureka had decided to try out their first headlight. They drilled a hole through the top of the motor housing and ran a cord through it, then plunked this headlight at the top of the motor. It was kind of crude. But it worked. Great machine.

No guys, this thread is by and about Mike Gravlin's Eureka in Greene NY, where I will be visiting for a micromeet on Monday a week from now.

This coming up weekend is the Big Christmas Dinner for 20-35 people that I attend annually at the home of my good friend and fellow Duo-Art Pipe Organ and other Mechanical Music Machines rebuilder/collector in Syracuse NY. There's a 90% chance I will be without internet access once in Syracuse but anyway am totally tied up there Saturday & Sunday. I would like to dash over to Oneida on Friday. I'm sure I can find an Internet Cafe, free wireless leak or somesuch in Syracuse for Thursday & Friday. The plan is to be down in Greene, an mere hour's drive south, at Noon on Monday.

Tho I have yet to write to you, JOHN LONG, after Greene I could mosey down to Pittstown/Scranton on Tuesday but only if that is a convenient evening for you?

After that I must skiddaddle back through Ithaca & Watkins Glen to Rochester for Wednesday (another Automusic Buddy) and home through Niagara Falls on Thursday for another Dr's Appt. on Friday.

No North Canton this time . :-(

I will then be staying home until Christmas Day and leave the next day for New Year's Eve in Winnipeg.

Dave.

Dave the badge is black, and the bristles are quite worn but remain in the roller nice and evenly, however when the machine is plugged in the person at the plug end will tend to get a jolt of electricity due to the fact that the vacuum needs a new plug but the machine runs like a top and to tip you all off it was never serviced either. no bearing noise and the carbons look really good too, last I checked they were pretty long. by the time dave gets here I plan on doing some cleaning up on it and hopefully a new plug is in store.
