I've been using my newly acquired $5 Super J and loving it. I had to buy a new hose, and now it is as good as new. I have an 18 year old son who is in the Army. He came home for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. He walked into the house, took one look at the Super J and said "Gosh mom, why do you have a 1975 vacuum cleaner sitting in the living room? Did your blue one (a modern Kenmore canister) die?" At this point I was laughing so hard. My son just looked at me like I was crazy. I laughed and told him, it really was a 1975 vacuum. He told me he meant it when he said 1975. Then he paused to look at it and pick it up. Then he looked at me and said "they really did make old stuff better than they do now." This would be my son who loves to go to estate sales, yard sales and resale shops. He gets it!

Great Story !!

Yes, True, so true, they did make things much better back in the day !!! If only the org. owners had realized that just
a new and better hose. Would make it a like new machine again !!

I also have

a Electrolux Super J vacuum! My mother has it(I gave it to her when I bought my Silverado) and she has used the heck out of it and she likes it and it has ran really good all these years. She also has my Rennisance, but she hardly uses that one because she says it is to big and bulky and hard to use.( She is a tiny 80 year old woman, still does her own cleaning) And she occasionally uses her 1960's Electrolux model G. I guess you can say she is a Electrolux lady through and through!! My point is the older Electrolux's were built tough and keep on going with a minimum of trouble or service!!
