This one was given to me by a good friend who works for Dyson. And is in almost new condition for a 1979 machine.

Wow you learn something new everyday......

I thought those full hooded models were only sold here in the states....... I think both of those machines are gorgeous ( I wish we had a commercial model like that here)....one question though is the on/off switch on the handle or on the hood? PAT COFFEY

Pat

Most Australian made Hoover's had the power switch on the hood, thier where only a few models that had the switch on the handle and most of these machines where imports from Hoover US like the DAM powerdrive or Concept Ones.

Steve,

Pick most of mine up at Trash and Tresure markets or on ebay now. Godfreys used to be good but since the govement changed the laws re the resale of second hand appliances the have all but stopped selling the tradein machines. Thier is a warehouse out west that has thousands of old machines that will will be trashed at some point so I'v been told. I'm in Surry Hills.

Those are both beautiful machines, and in amazing condition! I love the bright orange commercial version - still looks like something you could buy new today!

Pat...

You are right about Mark's collection. I too would love to see more. I like the power switch on the Australian models. It seems to fit so well with the overall design. It looks to be very handy too. Thanks again for the pictures. Your commercial model has a headlight where the US Convertible Commercial models did not.

Love the orange logo and switch on the hood - they "pop" out at you!
