Yesterday Paul, Mike King and Myself went to one of the local sunday car boot sales in search of some fab finds.
Congleton (which ironically is the town where the Lux 550 had a service) is a small town where it seems folk like to keep onto stuff and thus the carboots often show up some good stuff in good condition.

I purchased an early 1980's Russell Hobbs filter coffee machine in its box and on the very last stall was this nice Airstream 2.

All it needed was a clean up a new filter and bag set and away we go.

Certainly the time of year for Electrolux. While the winter gales are blowing there really is nothing that sucks like an Electrolux.

It works very well. Reasonable amount of grooming from the brushroll and the suction from the hose is certainly powerful.

My grandparents had a second generation August 1994 Airstream (think my Grandad still uses it to this day) which has the ESP.

I have a first generation Airstream already so between me and my grandad we have allmost all the variations they did.

Heres the first generation one from 1991/2

..the Airstream design was also sold over here as Contour, but they were less powerful IIRC.

Contours,

Yes we have a few of those in the collection too

They were the same cleaner however they had less features and less powerful motors.

The Electrolux model range was split as so.

Elite - 500w Basic Red with basic non stretch hose

Twin Turbo - White 600w non stretch hose

Contour - 700w White non stretch hose

Contour - 800w Turquoise stretch hose variable power although the first batch of them just had a boost button.

Airstream 1000w - Gunmetal variable power stretch hose multi level filtration aided by those fab blue cloth bags like todays Miele bags.
