Hi,

I think this may be obvious, but, is it true that the Hoover Dustette was not popular in the U.S.?

I believe so, because it was only in the European market where a revival of this model had occurred in the mid 1980s, sold under cat. no. S1122, is yellow in color, and that one was manufactured in Hong Kong, years before Hoover had joined the TTI family.

I believe it is the Hoover Duster that is uncommon

I have many, many hoover dustette hand vacs, i dont think they are uncommmon. The Hoover duster was hoover first canister, or attempt at one.
If anyone knows differently, please correct me, i might be wrong.

correct. VEry hard to find a duster, dustettes were common: the forerunner to the Pixie.

I think the early ones from the 1930 with polished aluminium nozzles are quite rare in the mine field of those little vacs, but then i have one.But i did check with the vintage hoover emporium and the 30s ones are rare with polished metal and a toggle switch
