I was looking on the Dyson web page and I noticed that there is no canister available for the United States now. I thought at one point they began selling their canister over here; but now it appears no longer available.

On the accessories page of the web site there are parts available for a canister, but on the product page, the actual machines appear not to be availabe.

Does anyone know what the story is with Dyson canisters in the United States?

We should be getting the DC12 one day so I hear. Which looks like this in the link below.

That's a turbine power head in those pics.

Dyson surely wouldn't make that mistake again. It was on that shortcoming that the DC11 failed. My understanding is that US is going to get a canister with an electric power head. I hope that still is the case.

DC12?

Tom Gasko mentioned something to me about a model DC20, which was supposed to have an electric power nozzle, arriving this February. I wonder if this is just a lower-tier model?

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

DC21

Our Dyson representative who comes into our store told us that the DC21 is the new canister with electric power nozzle and that they will preview it at the VDTA show in February in Las Vegas. Together with the new 'slim' for the United States (a slim, rather light weight upright). Anyone going to the convention in Las Vegas in February?

C.D.

Thanks my-ellie for the additional information and correction on the model. I hadn't heard anything about the Slim coming to the US...if the price is right, chances are it could be a fierce competitor with the Oreck!
