I have two of them and they sound great, yes they are a little louder than the older concepts, however the last few concepts also uped the motor to a 7.5 amp like the powermax. I was told by Jeff P (hoover guru) that the powermax had big problems with the motor bearrings going bad if it was used often. He bought a new one in about 92-93 and had the bearrings replaced a few times but then just got mad at it and threw it out. He told me that he was ashamed to say that he threw out a Hoover in his lifetime. So if you have a nice one try not to use it a lot. Oh and good luck with EVER getting any parts for one. TTI would say DUH whut vacuum swipper id dat, duh, I don't tink wes make parts fer dat kinda vacuum swipper . Sorry, I just have mixed feelings for the new and imporved Hoover company. I think they are kind of stupid.
