Looking for a vinyl hose for the G & getting confused what hose will fit it.

I know the silverado hose does not but when I look for a replacement many hoses say fit all metal cannisters & include the silverado.
I can't see how any hose that fits the silverado can fot the G.

What about if its a non electric hose?

I'm just not wanting to get the wrong hose & do want to get one for my poor G without a hose

You want the top center one. The pigtail hose.

All straight suction hoses will fit. Electric hoses with pigtail connectors on the machine end will also fit. So, the first two hoses in that section, which are genuine, will work. The last two in that section that are generic will also work. The genuine electric hose has a pigtail on the machine end, and a new style (like Silverado) style handle. The generic has pigtail connectors on both ends.

The general rule is Model 30 - Model L hoses will also fit 1205 - Ultralux, but 1205 - Ultralux electric hoses will NOT fit Model 30 - Model L, because it is modified with the 2 electric connectors in the hose end.

Hi Guys

Thanks, that helps

What is a straight suction hose?

Do you know if all non electric hoses will fit the G
is that what you mean by straight suction?

I dont know if I want to spend on genuine for a machine I wonlt really use that much but I have a blue G with no hose & a tan G with orig leaking hose. So they both are sitting now not really usable

I'm not collecting anymore & should be selling off so maybe its best to just sell the machines as is & let new owner choose the hose rather than to spend $ on machines I donlt really plan to use that much as I've kind of like the filter queen aboive the electrolux but the G is a real nice solid machine.

Hard decisions.

Would be interested in a used vinyl gen electrolux if I could find one but I have never been sure how to pick oneout for the G.

Straight suction = non electric.

If your G hose leaks, then you are missing a lot of power. You might use it more if it had a good hose.

I should be getting my blue Model G on Monday. That's going to be fun, and I will post restoration pictures.

I have one almost exactly like the cheapest one on that page, except the handle is a fair bit shorter. I considered getting one of the electric ones, but at prices approaching $100 + shipping (to Canada, no less), I can't justify it. As long as you have a hose cord, the cheapest one will do.

Hose by the Foot Option

If you have good hose ends for a non-electric/straight suction hose most vacuum shops have hose by the foot and they can put your old ends onto the hose. My local shop sells hose by the foot for $1.85 a foot and they have fixed me up with a longer than average Kirby and Electrolux hose. I found hose by the foot at www.hesconinc.com... that is cheaper. I now know how to fix my own hoses for Lux and Kirby so I might just order a box of 50 feet in the type of hose I want. The sell 7, 25 and 50 feet lengths depending on style and color. Plus the sell a non Lux hose that is straight suction and for about $10 to $12 last time I looked.

I don;t have a hose at all for the blue G or would try to to refit the ends. I don't however feel I should distroy the orig tan G hose to refit it with vinyl. The cheap hose might do but its added expense to a vac I don't use.
Still its a real nice working strong suction turq G & hate to have it wasted.
I'll have to check Hesco but total vac seems to be cheaper on some parts I need.

Thanks

Hesco does have a cheap hose Scroll down to $11.59 hose
is that the complete hose price is good & looks good just to complete a machine.

Still if I am only going to sell it why spend money getting it a hose?

I have 2 silverados & a 2100 electrolux but the G's are really nice too but mine didnlt come with power nozzles & the g power nozzles are not as good as the later silverados PN's.

So does $11.59 get you the entire hose with both ends?
They slip in sold individually on the hoses making it confusing.

Anyone buy the hose is it decent?

EL 416

The link didn't work. Is it the EL 416 for $11.59 it includes the ends. I ordered two of those about a year ago. I gave one to my friends that I gave an extra Silverado to because they have lots of tile in their house. That way they only use and put wear on the electric hose when needed.

I do the same with my Luxes.

This is how I got the two hose idea. My 84 year old grandmother has only had Luxes because her Dad fixed and sold them during the depression. She kept an old pig tailed house from her AE when she got her factory refurbished 1205 in 1986 and used it for suction only cleaning saving the good electric hose for running the power nozzle.

I'm in the los angeles area in san fernando valley.
San Francisco is far!

So is the $11.59 just an non electric hose?
It would be fine for the spare G but you have to order $25 with Hesco. I need a filter queen switch but Hesco is $3 more than total vac on that & still together that not $25 min or they charge a $5 fee.

I could get 2 one for each G but I dislike getting hoses for machines I donlt use & will probably only donate or sell in the future as I can't vacuum around all my vacs anymore
Too many but then its hard to craigslist a machine wo a hose too.

I;m stuck as I love the G above all the luxes but I am finding the filter queen works better with the fine dust from my bird.
The lux bag esp the generic don't capture the really fine powder like the filterqueen cones.

Thanks for helping me make these hard decisions. LOL

I like the G's too

What colors are your Gs. I have four of them. One Early turq and two middle turgs and a brown one. One of each color is complete if I remember correctly. The Gs and Silverado are my favorites.

I would love to get a Hospital Model but they are so few and far between and sell high on Ebay.
