Well Ryan came home yesterday with yet another vac for me. It is a Kenmore Deluxe Automatic Model# 116.9814 with a 2.8amp motor. Does anyone have any information on these?

Kenmore #116.9814

I own one of these also. The 6th wheel on mine is missing & my brushroll is worn but it still picks up fairly & vibrates the rug. Mine runs true & has no rough bearing noise. I rebuffed mine. I recommend you use Hoover elite belts on it. You can also use a Sears # 5270 which is also a substitute. The idea is that you don't want to stress the motor & yet you don't want the belt to slip either. I use the Hoover belts. Birtman Electric built this vac before Pearl Harbor. Postwar versions of this are #116.710,116.709,116.7091. It became a budget priced unit by the early 50's. It was rated 1/4 h.p. Uses # 87008 sealed ball bearings.
