Why does my 1205 have poor suction? I've replaced the hose & suction still the same even with a new bag. I hear that the mdl G keeps going strong even with a 1/2 full bag while the 1205 has almost no suction; is that true?

Check your fans

I found during my years of working on Lux's sometimes the upper fan becomes damaged, this causes very poor suction.I have also seen them clogged up with dirt. I clean mine with a spout brush and soapy water. Lastly make sure they are not in back words.

Also check your motor

Does this 1205 have the original motor? some replacement lamb motors dont have as much power as the original electrolux motors and they sound louder.

Motor sounds good, but could it be b/c I use aftermarket bags too?

The other problem that I can think of, if it has an aftermarket motor is the tube that runs from the motor opening to the bag chamber not being installed properly. I guess a gasket issue with the original motor would also do it.

I suppose an electrical problem could also cause these symptoms, if the motor is running slower than it should.

The other thing that I can think of is the 1205 simply not being as powerful as later models like the Super J. If your comparing it to a modern cleaner, you will probably be disapointed.
