Epic 6500 SR

Since this is the contemporary thread, its hard to choose a favorite contemporary Electrolux, but I suppose this comes close, save the ungainly wands and hose handle.

I have the Epic 8000 but the Electrolux we use is the 2100. It is lightweight and almost indestructable. It is so basic it reminds me of the model E.
The Epic 8000 is much quieter and has so many deluxe features. I do like the longer cord and rewind system on the Epic and it has the nice light on the power nozzle.
I have noticed when I do black cloth test with my different vacs the 2100 always has the most sand on the test cloth.
With my Dyson I get all carpet fuzz and little sand and grit.

Most Favorite Electrolux is

my all metal Ultralux I like it better then my Rennasaince. The Rennasaince is nice with it's three speed motor, but the hose handle and the wands are to bulky, and cumbersome....

For modern,I think the Epic 6500?Its just like Bob's (I think) exept it has the Classic wands IIRC

I think the blue and white Epic came out with the classic wands and hose handle...can't remember if that was called a 6000 or a 6500. In any event, modern Electrolux machines, in the style of the Canadian E2000 and the American (?) 2100, don't do much for me, at least aesthetically. They are good cleaners, though; just like all the classic Luxes.

Your right Bob it was the 6500. I thought so but seeing yours made me think it was the model less. I had an ambassidor 3, when I bought it in 2001 the 6500 was the next one up but I couldn't afford the 600.00 sale price af the Ambass3 never mind 1099.99 for the Epic. That was as low as he would go.I told him 800.00 would sell it. He said 1000.00 was the lowest on that model. Anyway I sold (sorry I did) the Ambassidor3 in 03 cause I needed money from being out of work from surgery. But I found an Ambassidor1 in the trash,Needs some help ill get it there lol..

Blue and white Epic

Hmm...the only difference I can see is that mine comes with a floor brush only, not the combination flip over tool.

By the way, how many different styles/colors of Ambassadors are there? I recall the following:

1. white with blue top and white trim
2. blue with white top and white trim
3. white with white top and grey/red trim
4. dark grey

Like I said before, there are so many variations of this same basic style that it makes my head swim to try to remember them all.
