I've had this Kirby Heritage II for some time now, and I've always noticed it doesn't make lines on the carpet like EVERY OTHER vacuum does on my carpet. I have very short pile carpet. I bought it off ebay, so I don't know if the belt is new. Is this normal or do I need a new brush roll or belt?

I would say check the tension of the belt, if it is sufficient then check the position of the brushroll. The bristles may need to be adjusted so they come down closer to the surface of the carpet....

I've Checked

I can pull the belt pretty far to the side, but the brushes don't come out to far.

I just noticed there is a big yellow line on the belt, does this mean anything?

try...

adjusting the brushroll to a lower setting, so the bristles meet the carpet a little more. It is probably still on "one". But if it is on "three" then the brushroll needs to be replaced because the bristles are to short.

I adjusted the brushes and put the cleaner to the level I normally do, and the green goes off. I hope I just need i new belt. once again, is the yellow line mean anything?

the yellow line means it is NOT a real kirby belt, but a made to fit. Change the belt when you adjust the brush roll.

in my opinion a good vac does NOT leave carpet lines, lol.

I changed the belt, and man, those are some carpet lines. I LOVE the lines on the carpet! To me it means that my carpet is clean. It also makes the carpet feel nice.

I wish my legend II made carpet lines :( I would adjust the brushroll more but then the carpet may not get sucked into the nozzle? same with my tradition.
