They had these in the US didnt they? They look like the US convertibles. Are the Rangers different in a way? Neat vacuum. I think I am a sucker for these and the 1010- 1020 style convertibles. |

Check your email! Dennis PS: Check to see if there is a switch that changes the speed when you put the handle up...... It is attached to the motor to speed it up when you attach the tools! |

IT DOES CHANGE WHEN YOU PUT THE HANDLE UP! Ive never know that. I allways turn on/off vacuums with the handle down. |

I love the Blue HP and the Supermacy, something about that burgandy with the black handle makes it very attractive. The ble one was a Sears exclusive most likely, and the Supermacy IIRC was (aroud here) exclusive to Ann&Hope or Apex, and the grey I remeber seeing at True Value near my house. I think a PA minni meet is in order, with pics to fallow!! =) Happy Hoovering everyone |

What a fab photo of the four of them. Thank you for posting this - I always liked different versions of the Hoover Ranger and saw quite a few different ones when I was growing up - the Montgomery Ward one seemed to be a popular one in our town.
I used to recall to collectors in the UK about the Ranger Senior with the curved handle instead of the more modern version but very few knew what I was talking about - my town in Scotland being home to a U.S Naval Base - and we had tons of American appliances including the big Cadillacs, Pontiacs and even those bizarre AMC Gremlin cars floating about. Always used to think the Ranger's with the badges on the left hand side were American, just like the cars' Left hand drive. I soon discovered at 14 years old that Hoover was an American company and not just built in Scotland, UK.... |
