I need another curved wand to make the wand I have S shaped in order to use the bare floor attachment. Does anyone have an extra wand or know where I could get one?

I thought the power tank had a bare floor tool that could be used with a straight wand that the power tanks generally used for the PN. It seems that most Royal canister stuff has gone away since they were discontinued and the TTI takeover. Hopefully, someone here will have one.

The bare floor brush will attach to the straight wand, but it won't touch the floor because the wand is staight and so it the end of the bare floor brush.

Bare Floor Brush

I see. I am aware of those, but I was expecting a power tank to be equipped with a floor brush like the one included with the vacuum in the link. Obviously, the machine in the link is a fair bit newer, but you get to see what I'm referring to. Anyway, I think if you add a lower wand to what you already have, the height of the hose handle might be uncomfterbly high. I think you might be better off with a complete set of 2 curved wands, or one of the newer style floor brushes with the swivel neck. If you don't care about color and stuff, you might want to look at filter queen tools as they abandoned the double curved wand setup a long time ago, and still have attachments in production.

This is the vacuum I have, found this on eBay, mine is exactly the same except I don't have the upholstery brush.

How in the heck do you use the bare floor brush LOL. I found some Royal wands on eBay, but I'm not sure if they are what I need or not.

I tried using the bare floor brush that has an elbow, but it is to big to fit in the wand.

Oh, now I see. What you need is either a lower curved extension, or a Royal bare floor brush with a swivel.

That's what I need, but does something like that exist?

Post# 72022 , Reply# 8   6/12/2009 at 13:26 (5,425 days old) by lux1521 ()

Yeah, it exists, but it might not be easy to find. I think the filter queen equivelent is in the link. Yes, it is expensive. the newer Royals had those kind of brushes too, so you could find a used one at some point.

The lower wand is just the standard lower wand that would have come with any older Royal, Filter Queen, or Royal private label machine. Again, it might take some time to find one.

Your power tank is one of the early ones, before they released the gas pump hose handle and discontinued the whole curved wand thing. That might be why you are having some trouble.

That's the one I was thinking of getting, but the seller said if mine didn't have the gray rubber grommet not to chance it.

Why did Royal discont'd the Power Tank? Its a shame about this; when did TTI aquire Royal?

Just like a Rexair Rainbow or a Fairfax or a Filter Queen when the PN was being introduced, the Royal Pony cylinder would have come with two sets of wands - curved and straight with cord clips dedicated for the PN, like you have, and a second set of both J wands for use with the manual tools.

You really need both upper and lower J wands for the tools to hit the floor at the right angle and forr you hand to fall to the handle end comfortably.

The seller of that single wand on Ebay states he has 4. He may not be aware that there are two different J sections that go to make up the S wand. I would contact him with a description of this and maybe what he really has is two S wand sets, in which case you are in luck.

You can use a set of Filter Queen wands as shown here but note that FQ wands have a protruding latch lock button while the Royal/Electro Hygiene do not and are a smooth friction fit. The corresponding Royal wand cuffs do not have a channel for the button latch and so you'd risk chewing up the wand cuff on the upper section and the hose cuff. The lower wand under the rubber collar cuff does have a channel slot that allows the floor nozzle to insert and turn in place so the nozzle rotates 180 degrees for easy navigation.

Thanks you for the information Dave.

I might have located a wand at a local vacuum cleaner shop. If he doesn't have the right wand, he also told me to bring my wand and he might be able to find a different bare floor brush to fit it.
