Does anyone have a Dirt Devil Roommate to spare? I saw them when I was about 4 or 5, and I wanted ever so badly, and I still do. I remember going into a gas station and a lady was cleaning with one, and I asked if I could vacuum, and of course she said yes, and I fell in love. I wanted one so bad, but for some reason I did not get one. Always happens to me. Well if anyone has one to spare please let me know! We could work out a trade, or if you want money, doesnt matter to me. Thanks, Chase

I havn't seen one of those sence I had min around 1997/98 I got it from sears and got the extended warranty. There was a short in the switch and it ended up melting. when I brought it back to sears they were discontinued I ended up with a Hoover Quick Broom. I liked the DD better because of the brush but I got my grandmother and me another Hoover Quick Broom with a power brush because the Roommate was NLA

There's one kind of like this at a vacuum shop in Arlington TX called Evans Vacuum.. The one in the shop has a hose and attachments actually attached to the machine..

must it be a 110V-version?

hey Chase, I do own this one, lucky me! Found it on ebay after searching for years. (Having endured this, I will not trade or swap, of course).
But if you like, I might keep my eyes open for a second one. (220v that is).
Just give me a shout.
Joe

PS: for some while, DD had this one on their website in a gold edition (not red) for a short time (along with other stick vacs and stuff, in the early 2000s)

I have seen at least one of those in blue, but never in gold. The red ones were quite common at one time, but that can be said about many Dirt Devils.

The one with the hose was called the Housemate, if I remember right. I never saw much about those.

I have one. and I like it although it does clog quite quickly. I also find that they are great for quick clean ups.
I am not parting with mine at the moment either but if I do I can let you know

Mike
