Hi there. Here are some photos of my Model 700. This was in such good condition that I didnt need to restore it, just give it a good buff! Note the original handle (Made of metal with ebony inserts and all part of the on/off switch assembly!!) and rubber furniture guard. The bag is from the USA and has the original scissors type bag assembly. It was perfect for this machine and complements the orange (original paint too) badge.
Best wishes to all, Jonathan.

what a beauty!

Congrats, Jonathan,
apparently one of the nicest vintage vacs I'd ever seen. I love all the little details, pressed-in "Hoover" logo in the furniture gard, the motor cable has a spiral around it, even in the little switch lever you can see a hollow "H", how elaborate! Amazing machine!
Cheers
Joe

Top Machines

Yes, its one of my favorites. I was lucky to come across this one - must have been 1 careful owner from new I think!
It is in my top 5 along with the Model 800, Model 652, Constellation 822 and Model 612. The 825 and 638 are not far behind.

what a shame on today's Hoover

I wish today's Hoovers had the same quality as these vintage ones. I hope someone has the dies & molds that were used to make these vacs.

Words on US and UK Bags

Did you know that the US bags had 'EMPTY AFTER EACH CLEANING' on them, whearas the UK bags had 'EMPTY EACH TIME USED'? Just another ephemeral piece of information!
