Hello,
Yesterday my "Eurekataire" came and I have to say I LOVE IT!!! After using Kirbys and now the Eureka I think(now my opinion may differ than yours) the Eureka is a better deep-down cleaner. It really vibrates the carpet and works wonderfully. I like the Eureka better on the berber carpet better than the Kirby. Both machines have their peeks and downfalls. Neither are perfect but I myself just prefer the Eureka.

Great Vac!

I have a Sanitaire 677D with the VG I brushroll. I've heard that the VG I produces better airflow than the VG II. I don't know if that's true, but it cleans extremely well. I appreciate the fact that you can "feel" it clean. I live in a house with a combination of carpet types -- plush and a short looped (berber?) style of carpeting. When I set the nap dial on 4 the agitator sometimes makes contact with the carpet (moving forward) and makes no contact pulling back. When I put it on 3, it has good suction and contact but I wonder if it's getting sufficient airflow. It's more difficult to push/pull on a 3 but not impossible. I have the same problem with my Kirby too.

most cases the vacuum is getting the air from under the carpet so having it on 3 is no problem.

I'm glad that it finally came.... that's a great vacuum and I'm glad they are still being made. How nice that it has a headlight too. I know you will enjoy it... congrats! Those vacuums are so powerful.... if you take the bag off and put your hand in the back while running it over dirty carpet, it will nearly sandblast your hand!!

A buddy and I recently repaired a Eureka that was pretty similar to this. We had it dismantled, including the bag off. When we powered it up, it started taking off across his floor. The velocity of the air coming out was incredible. Put that motor in a Constellation, and you'd be prying it out of the ceiling.

I'd say I'm not a fan of Eureka's, but these upper end models are changing that.

John, if you've never used a GOOD Eureka, you don't know what you're missing! If you have plush or cut-pile carpeting, absolutely nothing will outclean it. The TOL blue-line Sanitaires are quite nice too since they've got the "D" shaped handle and the 8 position height adjuster. Makes for a very sweet machine with more than enough power! Just don't try to vacuum a throw rug.......it doesn't work too well (think wrapped up in brushroll almost instantly...)

I love mine too

another addition to our collection this weekend was this Sanitaire from James Kirbymodel2c.

I have used Sanitaires in the past at Mikes and Johnnies and loved them so when we got offered this I jumped at the chance.

Cleans like the clappers with the stiff brushroll, activating nodules and the brushbars too.

I dont think id ever part with mine.

I have to say after having it for over a week now, I LOVE IT!!! I sold my Kirby G6 and put my second G6 up for sale too!!! LOL
I like how amazingly well it does on our berber carpet. The Kirby always did well on it with great suction but the Eureka has gotten out all this very fine dirt. I was shocked!!! I guess the central vac and Kirby was leaving behind fiber-destroying dirt!!!
