My Hoover Dimension 1000 took its toll today. It stopped this morning, then came back on, then I was cleaning my car with it, and I turned it off to move it from my back seat to the front seat, and alas it would not come on. So I tinkered with it a bit, and still nothing. I brought it in, thinking that maybe the outlet outside had died, but no. There is still electricity running through it, so the power nozzle still works, but the vacuum itself is dead. Does anyone have any suggestions or any regular Hoover Dimension 1000 motors. Maybe we could work something out. If you have any clue what is wrong please let me know. Chase- |

When you say 'tinkered with it a bit', what exactly did you do to it? Have the carbons worn down excessively? If they're worn or sticking, they could be the cause... |

thought it was the switch because its broken a bit, so i took it off and pushed the main button, and nothing, so the plug is a replacment so i took that off and made sure that the wires were still intact, then i put it all together and it worked. so when it happened the second time i tried all that again, but nothing, but my dad, me, and a friend think that it may just need rewired because the PN still works, so there is electricity running, becuase I was at the vac shop and there was a Lux that would not run the PN would, and he rewired it, and it started running again. So that is my guess. What do you think?

It doesn't need re-wiring! There is going to be one wire connection that is slightly loose - these use male/female blade connectors. Easy to clean, squeeze a little to ensure firm contact. Label them as you disconnect the harness. PN works? Then the hose and connections are fine - the problem is inside the carcass's motor/fan section wiring harness. Open 'er up. Also a good idea to check the cordwinder's sprung contacts while inside. Don't stop at guessing...research, diagnose and know. |
