Hey all, I have a bit of a problem. I found a very cool dirt devil upright on craigslist. The problem is simple. It appears the seller won't ship the unit. I emailed asking if they could ship it I have not gotten a response in over 48 hours. Secondly, I am pretty much broke at the moment. I was hoping one of the California members could either:

a) Pick up the cleaner, and store it until I am in better financial condition.

or

b) Buy it for themselves and photograph and document it for all of us.

The cleaner in question is this very rare version of the Dirt Devil Deluxe / MVP hard case clean air upright cleaner. If anyone else has seen one of these or has info on this series, I'd love to hear about it.

I remember the advertisements for these... always thought they were cool. That would be great if someone could help you out!

I remember these new a few years back. I think I had one that was all black. I even had the little red light to tell you when the bag was full. It's a good vacuum as far as Dirt Devil goes. I think it was a lot better than the original MVP of the same body style.

I also just saw something I didn't know they made. It was one of these of this style but was all white and called the liteweight or something like that. It wasn't the featherlite
it was the MVP style and the only difference that I saw was no head light.

Got any pictures or that white one? For some reason I have always thought that white vacuums were interesting. Its not the most common color choice.

The black Deluxe / MVP style is probably the Signature Series version. I have seen two on craigslist. For some reason I have seen a lot of the Signature Series cleaners lately.

My uncle has the white one and it's just about on it's last leg. I also have seen the black one at GoodWill lately.

Now this is very interesting. I never knew they made a white one. I thought they always used black or red for almost everything in this time period. I know they made a light colored swivel glide, but I was never aware of a white early style clean air upright. I would assume they are just as rare as the example I posted.

I'd love to get my hands on some of these rare late model cleaners before there are even fewer out there. While they may have been better than average Dirt Devil standards, they were poor by industry standards and most get trashed. I think we are going to have a missing decade of vacuums if the 90s machines are not preserved.
