I just won a Hoover Z 400 upright on the bay. I was actually hoping not to win it because I discovered too late that the 400 doesn't come with headlights or a bare floor tool... I'd have prefered the 900. I got it for just 42 dollars which isn't bad, but the shipping is 35 dollars on top. Anyone have a Z 400 or 900? What do you think of it? Where can I get the same wand and bare floor tool that the Z 900 would have come with? I know it will be heavy and probably clog fast, but it's so unique I figured it would be a good addition to the collection.

Thanks...

Sorry... when I said Z 900 I meant 700 instead!

Bobby, the Hoover Z is an excellent addition to any vac collection. I am hopeful one day its reputation will be as legendary as the Air-Way DirtMasteR. I have a Z-700, and love it! It's a little heavy and clunky for everyday use, but the suction is good (I don't see it having problems with clogging). I thought the Z-400 had a headlight, but looking at the specs of another one listed on eBay, I guess it doesn't. It also lacks the "gentler brush" setting on the touch pad. I paid a little over $100. for mine plus shipping, so all in all, I'd say you got a pretty good deal. You can probably get the floor brush from a Hoover dealership.
