A co-worker gave (yes, GAVE!)me her Rainbow D4C vacuum yesterday. Said she was tired of pushing it from place to place as she doesn't use it now that her house is all tile. It needed a good cleaning up and works great but....shouldn't the handle come out of the wand part from the power nozzle? I haven't used one in quite a while but I remember being able to take out the handle and attach one of the tools as needed. I noticed that there is a hole in the wand near the top where something snapped in but it is gone. I'm assuming it's one of those little metal plugs that hold the pieces together. The handle and wand almost seem to be glued together. I wasn't able to get any of the tools except the power nozzle nor the other hose I remember coming with a Rainbow but I'd be able to use tools I already have.
I'm really fascinated by the power nozzle tho. It's a PN2 and completely different than what I had when I had a Rainbow in the 90's. Looks like a much larger brush roll with brushes and stiffeners. Sounds like it's smacking the carpet when it's on.
It's also missing the cap at the back where you'd attach the hose for blowing and it's quite loud. Anyone have a spare I could purchase???
