I am looking forward to doing some thrifting this week with none other than Buffalo Joe! Joe is coming down for the weekend to check out the flea markets and the estate sales. We will take lots of pictures and post our findings. If anyone else is in the area you are welcome to join us!

Serial Numbers........

Wouldn't it be great if the serial number on my new connie is consecutive with yours?

Anyways, Yes, I'm looking forward to getting out there Sunday. I've got the Eureka hose for Jimmy and I'm also bringing a model 28 to clean up and restore. Something to tinker with in case our thrifting luck runs out. Of course, now that I'm bringing a project, we'll find lots o stuff. A nice problem to have.

See you Sunday!

Joe

Wish I could be there with you guys, but have to work at the museum tomorrow to get it ready to be open later this week during the Fredericktown Tomato Show. Had lots of fun the last time we got together, hope we can do it again sometime.

Thrifting...

Today...thrifting was a dud...nothing but cheap plastic bravos and such. Joe got some vintage Christmas bulbs for cheap and a nice set of Kirby Heritage tools zip brush included for $3. We just finished rebuilding Joe's Hoover model 28 and it turned out very nice and is ready to use and show. Tomorrow we are off to the famous Hartville Flea market for the last big sale of the summer. Who knows what may be out there for sale. If it is a cool vintage cleaner, you can be sure that we are going to grab it.

As a side note...we went to a local car cruise-in riding in my 1971 Olds 98 and saw a very cool 1962 Pontiac Tempest convertible which had a half V-8 four cylinder motor.

I will update you tomorrow on the newest finds!

Today's flea market finds...

Well here are the finds today...Joe and I hit the big Hartville flea market which was one of the largest ones that I have been to. We were there from 8 until 12 just walking it and taking items back to the car.

Joe found a great old brass fan and a milk carrier...he grabbed up a newer eureka mighty might, Hoover coffee pot model 8800 circa 1967 or so, a JCPenney hand vac for cheap, and a nice DAM that ran perfectly but was missing its original cord and handle plate (but it did come with vintage dirt!).

I grabbed a plastic Convertible from around 1980 or so and a super nice model 42 Areodyne in blue and brown that only came with the hose and a replaced black cord but ran quietly. My best find was the giant picture of the "men of Hoover" which I will post a close up of in the off topic forum.

We had a great time, but all good things must come to an end. I thank Joe for coming out it was tons of fun! He is going home with this haul plus a new Connie, a vintage Spirit canister in the box and a 1973 gold Convertible upright model U4007....not bad!

I had a Blast!!!!!!!!!!

I really had a great time Visiting Tom, Heather and Glenn. I'm very greatful they let me stay with them this weekend. Of course the time went very fast and now I have to go back to work.

I took home some very nice cleaners and a personal thank you goes to Tom for the Spirit and Convertible he gave me and for getting that new Connie. That is a real treasure and the first chance I get to take a picture of it in its new home, I'll post. Hopefully this week.

Thanks again Tom and Heather for having me. And also I want to thank my wife, Charleen for letting me go and doing my chores here at the farm while I was gone.

Joe

PS Jeff and Jeff, I would have liked to see you both. I missed Jeff Parker's visit to Ohio this year. Hopefully I can catch up with you next year. Either visiting here, in Buffalo, or in North Canton.

Glad you guys had so much fun and great bargains as well!!

What is the history of the Aerodyne??, was the first model the all brown model, then this blue 42, and later the 51 that Fred has??
