I loathe the Dyson DC14 compared to all the other Dyson models, even its predecessor the DC07. There are a lot of reasons, but one of them is the inane telescopic handle/wand assembly. It's too much to mess with, and I don't like the fact that the same handle that you use when you use it as an upright is NOT the same handle that is used when using the wand to clean the bare floors. The joke they have for an auxiliary handle is too short and not comfortable at all. The DC07 was so superior... I didn't mind the bit of extra effort to flip the handle around because it was worth it in actual use. The only reason I have the DC14 is because when I was looking for a used Dyson, it was the only one I could find a good price on. So, my question is, can I buy a handle from a DC07 and use it with my DC14, or is there some reason it wouldn't fit?

Thanks! :o)

Although I personally disagree about the handle (I prefer the DC14 setup!), you can put a DC07 handle on a DC14. However, you can't reverse that and put a DC14 handle on a DC07, it just won't fit!

Only thing I notice is that although the DC07 handle will latch onto the DC14 securely enough to use, there's a little 'play' in the connection when you push the machine back and forth - that might become annoying. Also, you do have to swap the hose over with the handles. It just unclips from the rear of the spine of the cleaner.

Lol, I know!

'WHAT accursed monster sired this freak-child?!'

The titanium handle from the DC07 Origin would suit it better, I think!

Thanks for letting me know... I don't have two to experiment with! Wow... that looks like a Frankendyson if ever I saw one (or can we only say that about Kirby's?). Maybe I will just get a DC07 instead or in addition... I like the placement of the attachments and the trigger for dirt trap door release better anyway... and the more narrow dirt cup. The play in the handle would annoy me, but thank you so much for letting me know it would work!
