I've had a couple of straight suction Electro-Hygienes for several years but only recently have gotten around to taking pics of them. First is my model 80, that was given to my son and I when my sister-in-law and her husband were moving. Here's a pic as it looked when we first got it, before doing any work.

After Restoration

We replaced a couple bad wheels, a really bad cord, added the missing bag, and polished it, and here's the end result.

Now The Model 94

hygiene903's profile picture
It was originally bought as a parts vac for the model 80, and to get the partial attachment set that came with it. But after we saw how well it ran after we oiled the bearings and got it loosened up, we decided to restore it, too. We have no "before" pics of this one. It's hard to tell from the pic, but this one actually has a hammered metal finish and really shined up well.

A little easier to see the hammering effect in this picture.

The Two Of Them Together

Here you can see both differences and similarities. The 80 is the older of the two, and I believe the first model of Electro-Hygiene built. The 94 is ALL original except for the bag, and I believe the better looking of the two.

Great work. They look awesome.
When you say "we" worked on them was that
you and Jr. or Jim ?
Can't waite to see and hear that Royal running
beside or between both of those Hygienes!

Thanks Norm!

I'm hoping to make the Royal look just as good. That would have been Jr. and me that worked on them, hadn't met Jim yet when we did these restorations. And the model 80 is the one I demonstrated at the last mini-meet at Tom Anderson's almost 2 years ago.
