Possilby....

First off is there any difference between the two you have now?
The one you should us the other day with the cloth covered cord is correct for that model. Mine as well have a cloth covered cord. My later Eureka with head light and belt/brush roller has a rubber cord on it and the bag is still on the front....but some of the other experts my be able to clarify better...

I have two Eureka Model 9's. One I acquired some 20 some-odd years ago that somebody threw away. This machine has a rubber cord. The second (in much nicer shape) I bought on eBay about 6 years ago. It has the cloth-covered "braided" cord. Both seem like the original cords, and it was in the 1920's vac manufacturers seemed to be getting away from braided cords in favor of rubber cords. For other appliances, such as irons, hot plates, percolators, etc., some companies used braided cords well into the '50's. Somehow, the rubber cords just aren't as nice. So, for you I would say it's quite possible that both cords could be factory original.
