I just picked up at the Vac Shop a Hoover Conquest along with the Packard Deluxe and the Eureka. All for 40 dollars. The Conquest has a sort of high pitched sound. I was told that it was a bad motor. It still cleans pretty good. But a collector told me that the bearings probably need replaced? I may just replace the whole motor. If anyone has a used, working Hoover Conquest motor that they may be able to trade or sell please let me know. Thank You.

Is to replace the motor we had a conquest at work and they called it the screamer, I took it home and greased the bearings and it only helped for a short time.

Check the idler pulley too. Much easier to service or replace than the motor bearings.

I often wonder about the lifespan of the Conquest motor. Seems to spin faster than the Sanitaire 7amp. Wonder how it compares.
