Yikes I was in Goodwill and this Kirby was sitting there with some attachments etc no price on it so I asked how much. $3 and off I went. In remarkably clean condition I did give it a little wipe before the picture and it needed a new belt which I put on. Also needs a new light which I'm outta stock on a the moment. Whoever owned it took the hose, cut off the wand end it seems and attached an even longer piece of another type hose to that and were probably using it as a canister type vac with this 20 foot long hose contraption.
Just what I really didn't want was another Kirby but I wasn't gonna let it sit there.
If you notice on the top front of the handle they had a piece of velcro plastic which they were using to hold all that hose to the machine,, sort of ingenious but I'll be removing it.

Funny thing is how absolutely nobody wants these Kirbys here, you really cannot even give them away even in pristine condition. People laugh when they see them anymore.

I could have had one from the Dogs And Cats Forever Thrift S

For $400. Good for you, and too bad the people up there can't see the value, maybe it's the sales horror stories.

Kirby Heritage

Hi Pete I have two Heritages 2 units. I love them VERY NICE VACUUMS, I have it since 1986 changed one switch one fan blade about three cords. Still works like new. What i DONT like about it is those head lights are always giveing me trouble going on and off when they want to. Every one i no has the same trouble but all and all very good machine. I am getting to like the G series a lot though my new rugs are very thick got a very good price on it 34.99 a yard my price 18.99 i had to grab that. The G series is much nicer and does a better job on those type rugs However i am a Kirby Man all the way. Take care if you ever want to talk Kirby Drop me a E-Mail. Take care Doug

Kirby Heritage 2's

I also am a Kirby man through and through(still have my first Kirby model 561) and it still works great, but it doesn't clean like my Heritage 2 or my Legend 2. But I will agree the G series Kirby's do a much better job cleaning even though they are heavy as hell....

Hey Pete, Love the Heritage. Just gave mine up to my daughter.
Just got new carpet and her Windtunnel Hoover was like plowing
snow. Now I'm wishing I had it back. I love that machine of
all my Kirbys.
If you decide you'll sell it, Let me Know maybe we can strike
a deal or a trade. It looks awesome.
Norm
