Hey guys! Well, I was out doing errands today when I spotted a Yard/ Estate sale sign. I didn't expect to find anything, but decided to check it out anyway. So, I looked around for a couple of minutes, and, not seeing anything was fixing to leave when, out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of red and chrome. Took a closer look and found this!

Here's another pic. The only flaws are the multi-purpose brush is missing, and the socket that the pn plugs into is worn slightly, so the cord is loose. Any help anyone can give as far as those two items or information about the vac in general would be greatly appriciated. Later, Trg

I believe the answer to your question would be a "YES". Not many people have a Guardsman canister.

As far as the PN socket goes, my Celebrity had the same problem. I got a tiny screwdriver and pried gently on the socket holes. If you look inside you'll see a split where the holes are formed from rolled brass. Pry on the outside of the round socket on both sides of this split towards the center. Problem solved.

Wow, you struck it rich in finding this model S3077 Celebrity II Guardsman, Toby!

Yes - this species of Celebrity vacs is indeed rare. This variant was probably sold for only three or four years (1976 to 1979). Perhaps, both Tom Anderson and Jeff Parker may be able to help me out on these dates.

Way to go Toby!! You sure don't see many of these!! Looks to be in near mint condition as well. Shouldn't be hard to find a floor brush attachment. Great vacuum. Terry

Looks like it's in excellent condition and a beautiful color scheme, too! And since it's part of the Guardsman Series it's probably the most powerful Celebrity you could find! Congrats!

That looks like the vac on ebay I was watching/thinking about putting a bid on. Ill have to look and see if it was from GA, Cause the same thing was on that discription about the PN socket being worn, tho this was slightly a prob with these if the people who owned them prefered to store the vac with the hose off. Anyway awsume find. Ill do some traveling to the "good" yardsales this year cause I am on the hunt for a 3speed Celeb. My money just dont seem to jive withe the E-bay end dates lol. Happy vacuuming with this Im sure you know it very powerfullll:)
Ken

awesome

my parents had this exact vacuum it was the first one I ever used. I used to take it apart all the time and tinker with it. We eventually tossed it for the dimension 1000.

Toby!

What a find!! One more addition to your great collection, and in such good condition too. We'll have to give it a run on my next visit to you.

Take care,
Robb
