Fairly recent I would think. Chad sells them at his Ann Arbor shop so he will know for sure. Fine vacuums, so I hear. Looks great in gray!

I got such a great deal on it.I know its near Tol or close up there.I think its a Synergy model from what I can tell.It looks alot more like them than the the Synchrony's line of Vacuums because of the headlights on it.I have a Freedom Vacuum and love it.I am wondering about bags and there cost though there $$$$$.I know Tacony makes Carpetpro,Fullerbrush, and many others out there.Would there bags fit this one? If not is there any brand of bags that would?

I dont have the Model number yet.I bought it online It was a gift to them . They just want to get it out of the way they promised me it works perfectly and it was to good of a price for me to pass it up..This one does have the Tandem Air system in it correct? Thats all I really care about is that feature. That dual motor system is soo cool. All my Vacuums but one are dirty air design. My Freedom Vacuum to me seems to outclean my Windtunnel 2 Power drive bagged version(I hate bagless Vacuums)

It is the tandem air but I think it is older. For the last few years they have made it in "rattlesnake" a color that changes with light it is kinda a dark reddish coppery color that changes to green and last year they added the blue one. Quite frankly even if it several years old but kept up or not used much it is a great deal. This is a tank of a vacuum. If they don't have the manual and want one I will get you a copy. This is the machine I use at home. I don't think I would use anything but the Tacony bags. They are not that expensive and do the best job.

Great high-tech modern look, but the attachment hose is so short as to make it almost useless to use with tools. And I don't think you can get an extra long hose to attach to the unit. Just my two "amps" worth...........

Synergy X-9 or X9.1 and Riccar Radiance

Yepper we sold those quite alot of them, before the new Miele S7's came on scene. We still sell them of course, but now are kinda secondary choices.

It's main uniqueness was the dual motor capability with dual suction creating fans. The lower motor that provides the power to the triple brush aluminum agitator also powers a suction fan about 6 inches back from the agitator cavity. It's benefit was that it gave cleaning results like the old fashioned dirty air uprights, with a partial by-pass cleaning path. making this machine into some kind of a patchwork hybrid thing for competitive purposes of having something interesting to sell. However,it's downfall was the fact that things do and still are getting stuck in the fans, or in a few rare cases...breaking that fan. Just like grandma's old style upright of various vintage and brand....

This motor can also be shutoff in three different ways. First is when the handle is upright, and you are using it as a carpet vacuum. This prevents undue wear to rugs and carpets while the machine sits motionless. Second is when you have the motor shut off for bare floor cleaning, and use it like you would when your vacuuming carpeting. And third is when you have the hose dial set to TOOLS. IF you for whatever reason release the handle while your using tools, the brushroll and fan will NOT come on...

This same lower motor is safetied, where if anything gets jammed into the brush roller it immediately stops preventing belt and brush roller damage, also helped by the fact that the belt isn't made of regular rubber like most vacuum cleaners, but is made of Kevlar, which is similar, but cannot be stretched, slip or break (yet I've seen one or two do it) but is more like the constant poly V-belts in automobiles. Because of these two processes the machine requires very little maintenance in this vein (hence their lifetime belt guarantee), and also if the fan gets jammed ( you have NO idea how many socks, handkerchiefs, scarves, toys, pantyhose and etc I get to remove from the suction fan, or the channel leading up to the fan; the motor stops too.

The upper motor is designed to be "canister style" strong for all above the floor needs. IT also is in use at all times when the vacuum cleaner is on. Hence, it runs when you have the lower motor shut off for bare floor cleaning. The suction from this motor pulls about 55-60 on my small compact vac gauge I have at the store. Not nearly "canister style suction" as they'd like to say, but in many cases better than any other competitive upright out there...( up until again ....the new Miele) which pulls a constant 95 on my meter anyway.

All in all a very quirky machine that does alot of things well to ok, but IMHO not great. It's quite heavy, and mechanically over engineered. Which to some may be just what the doctor ordered. It's very mechanically complex the first time you crack one open and subsequently the second, third and tenth time as well. It's the ONLY vacuum cleaner I've ever seen since I started selling and repairing these things 14-15 yrs. ago, that literally came with a second by second informational DVD for you to play so you can do all the necessary work to it, without screwing it up. It's that difficult if you do NOT know what you're doing.

The other shortfalls are the previously mentioned short hose. Simplicities answer to that was to keep it neat and tidy, so it can fit into it's set aside slots on the cleaner body. However, you CAN use the option 15 ft, attachment set, and hook the machine end u hose ferrule up to the hard curved hose end on the machine, and it will stay by friction fit. This gives you about a 21 ft, reach. This will allow you to use all the optional attachments too, and their again IMHO just a little nicer and useful than the ones that come standard with the unit itself.

The HEPA filtration system, is NOT up to sealed standards. If you run a lazer particle counter around it, it omits anywhere from 50,000 to 250,000 particles per cubic foot, from the leak site. It also depends too. Some are Very low to none on the scale, and others blow out fine particulate like a leaf blower. Again here is where Miele scooped and duped everybody even this Simplicity/Riccar product which has a higher MSRP than even the highest prices S-7. IF you run the particle counter around the Miele, you may find a few hundred particles per cubic foot, but when your near the exhaust, it pumps out a straight ZERO at all times.

This machine the X-9 originally retailed for $1,199.95 three years ago. Now with trade in allowances, and a reduction in pricing, you can glide home with a new one for right around $900.00 + tax.

Again, it's now overshadowed (As I've pointed out) by the Miele S7 which in our opinion, and of most of my surrounding counterparts to be a better machine, and our sales figures show us that month and after month. And so far, unlike the mechanical Mandy from Simplicity/Riccar; the Miele has been trouble free from day 1.

Well I got it cheap and I do mean cheap. Its one of thoese O.k. what are they not telling me cheap. They told me it works great but I will see when it gets here.. I love my Supra lite from Tacony and I also have one of thoese Twin fan commerical jobs that is rated at 160 Cfm but the strange thing with mine is the motor says 7 Amps on it not 6.Its black and says Pirranha on it but it's Prolite in looks but a hell of a Vacuum. The Miele Vacuum I assume uses a Domel motor.I have heard great things about Domel motors and that is what my aunt has in her central Vacuum.
