Ok I'm confused.. When I look at the vacuum in the Ebay ad the power nozzle has the Jubilee decal and the vacuum has the Jubilee decal and the box says Jubilee.. So why is it not a Jubilee? |

The hose in the photo does look different. It appears to look like a 1205 hose. |

We're all agreed the price is insane even if the damn thing has serial number X-00002-X, was shrinkwrapped & sealed at the factory and never opened. Why do you say that 'there' not even getting a Golden 50th Jubilee? If you've got a point to make you'll have to be more clear for the dullards among us. What I see in the B&W Page 3 you've posted matches the 50th (Diamond Anniversary) Golden Jubilee Model 1205 in the Ebay auction in almost every aspect, with one major identified difference and a few extra bits tossed in. Blue 50th Jubilee medallions on Vac and PN, direct connect hose - possibly from the SuperJ - to the PN wand and a box labeled 50th Jubilee Model printed on gold. Only the hose handle in your scan appears different in that it's showing plain chrome but that could conceivably be a photo of the pre-production prototype, a common situation in manuals during model changes. That same direct connect hose in greenish blue/white double tracer with the 2 pin socket mount where the chrome swivel handle terminates was introduced on the late version Blue 1205. That would explain the familiar hoses in the Ebay ad confirming what Terry and David have already posted in Thread 5761 about its availability. But the picture below does show the power hose you speak of. No doubt the pigtailed versions failed, were discontinued and owners had the direct connect coupler installed on the original hose or exchanged them for the Super J style. "So look below tell me what that is??" Besides being an embarrassing reminder of 1970s fashion sense, that is an Electrolux 50th Jubilee Model Deluxe vacuum Cleaner, probably in sparkly gold textured enamel ...like the one on Ebay. With Super J hoses - so what? Dave 1974-75 Golden Jubilee Model 1205 |

Like all other vacuum manufacturers Electrolux had a constant stream of changing parts based upon what inventory was available. Just check out the various variations of the XXX over the years. The machine on ebay looks genuine enough to me. Enough to bid on but not enough to pay that price! Don't be so quick to pass judgement. I bought a brand new Super J with the pistol grip and PN-4 as well as an all-original 1205 with a PN-2. This machine is a perfect fit between the two. I would be willing to bet on it. Fred |

Ad Copy reads: This listing is for a never used vintage Electrolux 50th Jubilee model vacuum. * Comes in the original box. Box has some rips and wear but still holds the vacuum. * Original receipt from 1975 and manual are also included. * Includes a variety of hoses and attachments as pictured. * Items pictured are the exact ones the winning bidder will receive. * Again it has never been used. There is no hair or other wear to the bottom of the vacuum attachment proving this. No mention or claim that the vacuum & accessories have not been unboxed nor that it is NIB complete. The non-collector seller, who is an employee of a Store franchise which is part of a worldwide network of independently owned and operated businesses operating under the iSold It brand name selling for a third party, merely states firmly that he believes it has not been used. We know better of course. We also know well enough that the gray caddy contains non-Electrolux items. As for this de-mother, you insert it at the end of a hose or wand in the exhaust stream, not the exhaust port. I'm sure we're all familiar with the XXX/LX/E/AE/G etc style de-mother that does connect directly to the Lux Exhaust port providing a second port for connecting the hose if one wishes.. I see no instructions about this style of demother or how to set up the pigtail connection but then, as already pointed out, the manual you refer to is presumably the first issue, not the ones subsequent to the hose change. Simple to do a screen capture of an Adobe page. Tap Print Screen key which copies the screen to Clipboard storage, then paste in photo editor of choice, edit and re-size and post as a jpeg. Can anyone else confirm that it is an Electrolux issue De-mother tube? I have several of this smooth narrow chrome type for different makes of vacuum hoses but I stand by to be corrected if Electrolux re-issued it for use with the 1205... Going, going, gone for $3,250. |

That should read 1974 to 1975 for the Electrolux Golden Jubilee Model 1205-J. "a golden jublilee hose is about as rare as a Hoover Windtunnel!" Agreed, and since I have perfected the art of liquid latex impregnating leaking but cosmetically decent hoses I may have the suckiest collection of usable vintage hoses around. LOL I am enjoying this thread immensely. Thank you all for your participation. D |

Yes Pete, that is the first hose the Golden Jubilee model 1205 came with, The direct connect style was introduced late in the run of blue 1205s with a simple metal handle with a suction adjustment ring near the tip. In Terry's thread 5786 about the Olympic One my blue late style 1205 with this same hose makes an appearance. We have now established that the Pistol Grip hose made its debut during the early days of the Golden Jubilee and was also made available in blue as a replacement hose for previous models. Canadian Electrolux's had a differently engineered electric - and non - hose, trigger grip and connection blades setup for the AP series and similarly made those new hoses in colors to match many models, including the 80 series in tan/white when the green and red braid strips ran out. As I said, my late posting of this picture (from Doug's site) sort of diluted it's impact and relevancy in the discussion. It does show that all hoses exist in their timer and place. Dave |

Yes! And like Fred stated earlier, virtually all vacuum manufacturers had a continuum or stream of parts and/or accessories and the manuals surely did not keep up with them! RB |
