I got this out of the trash when Chad and I went trashing. I was more excited about this than anything else because I didn't yet have this model. It was a tough one to get cleaned up. That bumper was pure mold and very hard to get off. I used commet, bleach, soap, OPPS, and a SOS pad. It still has some on it but I can't get it all off.

She didn't even turn on, it just buzzed but after I took the motor apart and cleaned it everything works and sounds GREAT like a Convertible should. This is a metal based in case you were wondering.

Please excuse the background. We were going to work more on that room ( ripping the floor out and finish up ripping the wall out) today but we go snowed in instead. I can't believe this the temp was like 80 yesterday below 30 and a few inches of snow today and back up to the 50's or 60's tomorrow.
Anyhow stay tuned in the weeks to come for more refurbs from the curb.

That's a neat Convertible, just like the one I gave away some 20 years ago, the slightly newer one I found in Goodwill disappeared when I went back to liberate it. The bag was crammed with dirt, and as you know, you just have to throw them out then. What is this "change the bag" thing I hear people talk about? Not LOL.

Great Job Phillip!!!

I have this vacuum as well! I call it the "Guacamole Vacuum" As you said, this vacum still has the metal base under the full hood and it still has the rear tool conversion!

From looking at the first picture, I can't believe how dirty the bumper was and how clean and white you got it.

Marty

When I looked at that pic above it reminded me of a similar one I put away in the laundry room and kinda forgot about but it's a model 4107 in light gold.. So I just dusted it off now and took a pic...the base is plastic and the handle is square

Pete, I have that one also. It was a later 70's and there was another green one with the square handle like it. I think these were 1977-1980? The one on mine above was in the 1976 lineup.

Phillip,

you did a great job restorig that Convertible to it's former glory.

I couldnt believe how dirty the bumper was, I thought it was supposed to be a dark green.

Sam
