I Have a Kenmore Whispertone Vacuum, with Power Mate, that I need a Headlight lens for. The Power Mate's model number is a #116, Serial #DC422082. Does anybody have an extra one laying around? If not I may have to go to Sears.
Thanks in advance for the help!

whoa

I think that has seen some better days! I think it would be best to find a whole new head.... Just my thought...

I was going to agree with Brandon! Good heavens! That model isn't very old... (though many of the more recent ones were green or blue, not sure how old the black color is)... maybe Sears or Panasonic still make it. It looks pretty bad... not only the scratches, but the writing (the words "brushed edge cleaning" on the right side) is messed up and that's something I can't stand on any appliance or even in cars! I see blue machines like that on CL for next to nothing quite often.

Got it cheap

I paid $5.00 for it and the vacuum plus hose at a thrift store. I have seen them here locally at pawn shops for upwards of $30.00 and some of them if not most of them were not complete.

I can totally empathize with you about getting a good deal on a vacuum that has a pretty decent flaw and finding out that fixing it up right is more expensive or time consuming (or impossible due to lack of availability of the part) than just having paid more and gotten it complete. It is very frustrating indeed.

After a little Clean up. . .

Here's an "After" shot of the powerhead after a little clean up--True, I can't get out the scratches but I did remove quite a bit of the dirt--It does look some better. . .still would like to find a lens though, maybe could even find another top piece. . .

Better

Yes that looks much better. I could live with that. But yes, I hope you can find something to help that out. Good luck!

The black models were from....

kenmore81's profile picture
1993-96ish I had the white model Wispertone, the black was TOL i think, the difference between the black and white was the check bag mine was machanical and the black was a light also the cord was about 2 oe 3 ft longer and there was a hook on the back of the canister for storing the power-mate. I may have a lense hanging around here but i know i dont have the hood.Sears had lost my whole wand/pm and sent me one that was cream and brown lol.
